Good Things Take Time
Weekend Musings from Ashton
Happy weekend,
This week felt… chaotic.
The markets swung hard, headlines screamed urgency, and everything seemed to move faster than our nervous systems could keep up with. It’s easy, in moments like that, to feel like something is wrong—like we’re behind, or missing a step, or about to lose control.
But zoom out for a moment.
If you look backward—five years ago to today—so much has changed. Progress happened. Growth happened. Even through uncertainty, life kept moving forward. Not in a straight line, not without disruption—but forward nonetheless.
And the same perspective applies to our lives.
We’re often future-oriented by nature. We think about what we want next: the relationship, the career shift, the peace, the joy, the rest. But the truth is this—good things take time. And they don’t arrive all at once. They’re built slowly, quietly, through what we choose to do today.
If we want sustainability tomorrow, we have to tend to it now.
If we want peace later, we have to plant it in today’s decisions.
If we want joy, rest, and fulfillment, we have to prepare the soil before the harvest.
In my line of work, some form of chaos crosses my desk every single day. And when things feel especially loud or uncertain, I find myself returning to a simple reminder—almost like a whisper under my breath:
I’ve been here before. And the universe is abundant.
When we allow ourselves to sit with the mystery of life—without trying to control every outcome—and focus instead on making clear, intentional choices today… something remarkable happens.
Over time, good things unfold.
So if your life, your work, or even your portfolio feels a little chaotic right now, take a deep breath. You’re not doing it wrong. This is how it works.
Good things take time and everything is waiting for you.
With intention,
Ashton
